Hacking Couture

Open Source Mode Part II

polo_02.jpgpolo_03.jpg

Hacking Couture explores the merging of interactivity and fashion through the application of the concept of open source in order to offer and alternative to the current fashion forecasting systems, allowing anyone to give their input, by understanding the design elements [DNA] of established brands, and applying them by participating on any of the Hacking Couture workshops or by submitting their creations online.

By the use of contagious media and the implementation of social software Hacking Couture introduces unexpected input into the traditional creative fashion cycle, giving an alternative of how technology can be used to enhance the fashion experience in means of personal expression and social gathering.  At the same time this project serves as a study of the potential evolution of Couture [High Fashion] and how the current Hacker and DIY [Do-It-Yourself] cultures could be integrated in this process still maintaining the traditional fashion language.

These explorations allow room for an alternative system to the traditional fashion forecasting systems that rely their sources on documentation instead of focusing on the framework for emerging and evolving aesthetics. Fashion for the masses by the masses.

Unbedingt mal genau anschauen…
