Italians Do It Better: Label-Offspring Perseo

Italians Do It Better, Heimat der Synthpop-Nostalgiker Glass Candy und Chromatics, haben jetzt ein Schwesterlabel. Johnny Jewel und Mike Simonetti konzentrieren sich mit Perseo auf Neuvertonungen und Bearbeitungen aller Art:

This label will focus mainly on edits and things of that nature. The label was born when Mike heard the infamous Bruce Springsteen edit by Martin Vogel almost two years ago. It prompted him to try to figure out a way to release it, and thus Perseo was born. SInce then it has become a way to showcase some of Mike and Johnny’s favorite edits out there, as well as a way to release some of their own work.

Die ersten drei Releases sind auf 400 Exemplare limitiert: Neben Martin Vogels gelungenem Springsteen-Remix, der allerdings nicht ganz an das Chromatics-Cover von “I’m On Fire” heranreicht, erscheint Bottins puckernde Disco-Version des Steve-Miller-Band-Klassikers “Fly Like an Eagle”. Simonetti himself liefert drei Edits von “obscure house tracks”, die offenbar nicht mal die Leute von Troubleman Unlimited kennen. Kein Repress.
