Radio Slave presents Strictly Rhythms Vol. 5

Matt Edwards aka Radio Slave hat sich durch den riesigen Backkatalog des New Yorker House-Kolosses Strictly Rhythm gewühlt und seine Favoriten auf einer Anfang Oktober erscheinenden, zwei CDs umfassenden Mix-Compilation verewigt. Damit tritt er die Nachfolge von Mr. V, Michel Cleis, Charles Webster und Kenny Dope an.

Wer hätte vor fünf Jahren gedacht, dass die Sound-Ästhetik früher Strictly-Rhythm-Maxis noch mal als Stichwortgeber und allseits zitierte und geplünderte Inspirationsquelle dienen würde? Aber seitdem wieder kräftig gesamplet wird, ist der New Yorker House-Entwurf bestehend aus catchy Samples und roughen SP-1200-Beats, den Kenny Dope, Todd Terry et al gesportet haben, wieder schwer en Vogue. Dass Radio Slave ein Strictly-Fan ist, hat man seinen Produktionen auch schon vor seiner “Cabin Fever”-Serie immer wieder deutlich angehört. Für die fünfte Ausgabe der “Strictly Rhythms”-Compilations hat er seine Lieblingstracks aus den Archiven geholt und für die Mixe einen ganzen Haufen Edits gebastelt. Wenn unsere Infos stimmen, dann ist Tensnake der nächste Produzent, der freie Hand hat, mit dem umfangreichen Backkatalog Schlitten zu fahren und eine Compilation voller Edits zusammenzustellen.
