Peter Hooks Haçienda Memoiren Deluxe
Drei verschiedene limitierte Box-Sets inklusive signiertem Buch, 10", Kunstdruck - und einem Stück vom Hacienda Floor
Peter Hooks im letzten Jahr erschienene Memoiren “The Haçienda: How Not To Run A Club” über sein Leben als danceaffiner Rockstar als Teil von New Order und Clubbesitzer mit runinösem Finanzgebaren gibt es jetzt auch in verschiedenen Deluxe-Versionen zu kaufen. Gefertigt von den britischen Designer Foruli, sind die Boxen auf 400, 100 und 2 Exemplare limitiert. Je nachdem, wie tief man in die Tasche greifen möchte (und man muss so oder so tief in die Tasche greifen). Die Standard Edition beinhaltet neben dem handsignierten Buch (inklusive bisher unveröffentlichtem Material), eine 10″ mit einem neuen Track von Hook, ein Kunstdruck und ein Stück vom Dancefloor des legendären Post-Punk- und Acid-House-Clubs in Manchester. Das ganze für schlappe 350 Pfund. Die Deluxe Edition, von der es nur 100 Exemplare gibt, sportet darüber hinaus noch ein Stück von der Haçienda-Bar, auf die FAC51 eingraviert ist. 600 Pfund sind dafür auf Hooks Rentenkonto einzuzahlen. Mit der Ultimate Edition (limitiert auf 2) erwirbt man obendrauf dann noch eine von nur sechs handgemachten Haçienda-Bass-Gitarren mit dazu gehörigem Flightcase, ebenfalls mit einer FAC51-Gravur. Einen genauen Preis gibt es dafür nicht, aber er dürfte locker fünfstellig sein. Also, Sammler und wohlhabende New-Order-Fans antreten. Hier kann man die Sets erwerben. Und was hat der New-Order-Bassist zu den Sets zu sagen?
The idea of doing a limited edition book seemed like shameless cashing in at first. Yet as I sit here going through the prototypes and plans for the Foruli collectors editions of “How Not To Run A Club” I can see how beautiful they are and the obvious respect that has gone into creating what I can only call works of art. They really evoke and bring to life the original and authentic graphic identity of the Hacienda around the text, so now the book not only tells the story but becomes a much more complete testament to The Hac. Its design and identity was always funded with no thought of expense, as the club prioritised Art well above Money. Foruli have managed to immortalize my original book with these special editions and I have to say I’m delighted with the result. I just hope someone treats me as reverently when I am gone!
