The four tracks of the playground EP were generated during playground festival in Innsbruck Austria in September 2009. Byetone, Schlammpeitziger, Christian Stefaner-Schmid and Fritz Teufel met the challenge to explore the city of Innsbruck by means of field recording devices. The collected audio material was processed to pieces of music in public, i.e. in a shop-window of a highly frequented commercial street, which was occupied for a week and also provided a basis for a media art exposition, discussions, talks, screenings and parties. It is always interesting when people who never met join together to make music. Werner Niedermeier is based in London and Gareth Whitehead lives in Glasgow – well connected via the Web they jointly conquer the deep world of House music. Their releases on a vast number of labels such as Supplement Facts, Blitz, Resopal, Nummer underline their brilliant starting position. Therefore, we are particularly delighted to present these 2 aspiring and likeable mates on Broque as well.
The company is completed by a bunch of guys providing remixes which perfectly complement the pumping Housesound of the original tracks: Douglas Greed of Freude am Tanzen-fame throws in his unique sense of charme, Georg Neufeld from Switzerland leads us to a deep float and the swabian guy Landschall mingles everything with his analogue devices and the trumpet sounds from the romanian Sorohan.

Es ist immer interessant, wenn Menschen miteinander Musik machen, die sich noch niemals gesehen haben. Werner Niedermeier hat seine Zelte in London aufgeschlagen und Gareth Whitehead lebt in Glasgow – über das Netz verdrahtet erobern beide die deepe Welt der Housemusik. Das dies keine schlechte Ausgangsposition ist, beweisen ihre erfolgreichen Veröffentlichungen auf Supplement Facts, Blitz, Resopal, Nummer und viele viele mehr. Und so freuen wir uns besonders, euch diese 2 aufstrebenden sympathischen Männer auch auf Broque präsentieren zu können.
Hinzu gesellen sich illustre Gesellen, die den druckvollen Housesound der Originale perfekt ergänzen: der Jenaer Douglas Greed von Freude am Tanzen bringt seinen unnachahmlichen Charme mit ein, der Schweizer Georg Neufeld leitet uns zum deepen Schweben und der schwäbische Landschall lässt zusammen mit dem rumänischen Trompeter Sorohan alles noch einmal durch seinen Maschinenpark laufen.

This is the second time after So I´m Jo Modularfield puts the focus on Austrailia and tears down the wall of a limited genre portfolio. Once again electronic music combined with vocals but this time a little bit more different and ruff. Sydney indie pop four piece Convaire are the collaboration of John Towey on guitars, sisters Liz and Jane Slattery on keys and Dan Talbot on bass combine male brashness tempered by the subtleties of youthful femininity. Inspired by the music of Talking Heads, Friendly Fires, Pheonix and other pop friendly artists, Convaire have already graced many of Sydney’s popular venues.  The four page booklet for the hey say hey release was designed by Farbfundament.

A run into europeans winter’s breeze let’s us try to bring the
december mood to a spring-like reunion full of kisses. Still
hidden we are happy about an upcoming phonocake release by Modul,
while we can already listen one of the tracks here.

As a debut we can find tracks by diverse local heroes, e.g.
Hofuku Sochi, who could be known from his netrelease at Camomille,
called the lost tapes. Or welcome revived Sandrow Mitzschke,
who could be better known in Dresden as Sören Matschiste. And
besides this a smooth nice track by Insect O., which opens the
hope for a nice upcoming spring time. Sören and Insect O. live
the Dresden based record label ETUI, which is successfull
especially in the field of Deep Techno House .

Also with us are friends from Tallinn, Barcelona, Krasnodar,
Montevideo und Florence again. And there are two new projekt
names to be found: Captain Snorehead and One Day In Metropia,
while the last one could also be known from live sets in the
Altes Wettbüro or Schleife 9, one location, which was voted
in local electronic life event magazine (www.banq.de) on
position one of the best locations in 2009, but sadly is no
more active in 2010.

“It‘s Midnight Now” entstand auf einem Berg über dem Strand in Fuerteventura während eines Surfurlaubs. Der Track wird von einer sanft blubbernden Bassline getragen, die von einer Fläche sphärisch umhüllt nach vorne geht. Der perfekte Track zum Einleiten der Peaktime oder um das tiefe Gefühl der frühen Morgenstunden einzufangen.

Pascal Vert entschlackt das Technoide des Titeltracks hin zum Dubbigen und wirkt weniger wie verhalltes Dubtechno, sondern trägt sanft und würdevoll durch die Nacht.

Auf der B findet sich mit “On The Go” diese Art Techno, die treibend mit Ride-Becken nach vorne geht. Kein Hit, sondern ein Stück, das wie einer wirkt und auch nach Wochen nicht langweilig wird. Dass der Track nach einer langen Party entstand, hört man und wird selbst in den Bann gezogen. B Mus, der zuvor auf Komplex Audio veröffentlichte, klart die einzelnen Spuren ein wenig auf zu einem 10-minütigem Trip.
