Ok. Kurz mal die Zeit anhalten. Wie war das noch mal? Genau. Damals. Nicht so lange her. Manche haben es immer noch im Ohr. Und die Plattenkiste dazu steht eh immer parat. Der Mix von Orlando Voorn, für mich seit seiner Fix EP auf KMS immer einer der ganz großen, für das Genesis’88 Radio führt uns zurück in die Zeit der frühen 90er, und wühlt sich dabei durch ein ziemlich amüsantes “Best-Of” dieser Zeit, in dem man, falls man dabei war, nahezu jeden Track mitfiepen kann. Der Titel Megamix ist hier eine Ehre. Großes Kino.

PS: Ich sehe zum ersten Mal, dass jemand einen Mix auf Soundcloud verkauft. Ist bestimmt noch viel illegaler als überhaupt welche hochstellen.

Die Tracks von Reade Truth begleiten einen nun schon seit Anfang der 90er. Und selbst wenn sie über die Jahre immer seltener geworden sind, haben sie immer etwas besonders. Als DJ hatte ich den New Yorker allerdings noch nie gehört. Der Mix für Forward Management – seine Booking Agentur – überzeugt einen aber vom ersten Moment an durch die extrem eklektische Wahl der Tracks quer durch die Jahrzehnte und vor allem das immer wieder überraschende Können mit dem völlig unerwartete Stücke die man fast vergessen hatte plötzlich eine ganz neue Einheit im Groove eingehen, der einfach immer extrem frisch klingt.

Der Australier Griffin James hält seit einiger Zeit die House-Fahne aus Melbourne mit beträchtlicher und beeindruckender Konstanz hoch. Ob auf Sleazy Beats oder Under The Shade, seine Produktionen zählen neben den Sachen von Tornado Wallace oder dem Future Classics-Umfeld wohl zu dem Besten aus Down Under im Moment. Da kommt noch einiges. Dass er ein nicht minder superber DJ ist, beweist auf seinem 3-Stunden-Mix, den er kürzlich bei der 021-Partyreihe vorlegte. Ein feiner Mix, auch weil er sich gleich gegen sechs Polizeibesuche beweisen konnte. Da schwebt doch Spirit mit.
