Daran konnten wir heute einfach nicht vorbei. Ben Boe vom grandiosen Boe Recordings Label zeigt in Aurora Boerealis (pun intended), dass man zwischen Elektro, Breakbeats, Deepness und dem willen zu einem gewissen galaktischen Sound immer noch Ecken finden kann, die wir fast vergessen hat. Musik zwischen Detroit- und UK-Oldschool, Post-Drexciya-Electro und einem ganz sicheren Gefühl für diese immer wieder unerwartete Mischung von ungerade geraden Beats.

Kirk Degiorgio treibt sich in unserem elektronischen Kosmos schon seit Anfang der 90er rum und gehört für uns seit seinen ersten B12 Releases als Future/Past oder As One zu den wenigen Legenden, denen man auch Jahrzehnte später immer wieder vertrauen kann. Sein ART Label gehört immer noch zu den Meilensteinen der Prä-Elektronika Bewegung und irgendwie lässt er einfach nicht nach. Für eine Party am Wochenende mit Kevin Saunderson, DJ Orlando, Ben Sims, X-Press 2 und natürlich Kirk Degiorgio hat er jetzt diesen 3 Stunden Mix produziert, der wohl nicht allzulange online sein wird, also beeilt euch.

Das kanadische Duo Art Department um Jonny White und Kenny Glasgow hat uns im Frühjahr mit dem Album “The Drawing Board” auf Crosstown schon ziemlich beeindruckt. Nun haben sie einen feinen, sonnengetränkten Mix aus dem W Hotel in Barcelona während des Off Sonar 2011 online gestellt.
