[Noo3] Suod Ulbeba – „Cold Stue“

After remixing two tracks for Odda and Bool, Suod Ulbeba chips in some „Cold Stue“ to the Noorden site today. Old School synthesizer and classic drumsets growing together in a beta-atonal city. Salmiak and Odda also put their hearts and souls in giving nice edits to this release. Enjoy!

Space Trip Into Parallel Universe

Complementing the previously well-received album “Unicorns, Saigas, Narwhals and Other Space Stories” (cl-026), Burdeos teamed up with some of his mates to produce reinterpretations of the album’s finest tunes. On “The Other Space Stories” Burdeos opens and closes the album with some variations as well, whilst in between you’ll find some spacey mixes from the likes of Ralp, Sr. Aye, Rec_Overflow amongst other talented folks. It’s a burst of super novas shaping into new shining undecifrable space objects, while we’re in our tiny ships witnessing these wonderous events and suddenly the void and silent universe turns into a sensorial banquette. Never exploring a parallel universe has been this much fun! [F.G.]

Biomechanical Audio Control

The good son always returns home. Once again, a delightful FMcontrol release for Crazy-Language, keeping the tradition of his broken-beat style of self-created frequency modulation patches and complex musical structure.

What’s different this time around is a certain minimalism felt throghout the songs. There aren’t as many crazy layers as in past releases, working with fewer elements but exploring every single one of them to it’s fullest, resulting in some very interesting cold tunes, sending chills down your spine at every turn. There are recognizable elements of acid techno through some vintage synth lines and drum kits, but the results are definently not what you are thinking.

It’s a tale of two worlds that FM knows how to combine: cheer mechanical prowess alied to the capacity of sending the most creepy feelings throghout your body. Best suited with good headphones and nice stereo system. [F.G.]

“Trans Alp hat seine modularen Synths mal wieder spielen lassen und angeschraubt, einen Basspieler eingeladen und sich mit diversen Kleinstinstrumenten selbst ins Zeug gelegt. Seine dunkle und kritische Ader kommt in der Musik natürlich immer noch zum Vorschein, aber die eher grazile Art wich einer neuen Begeisterung für diverse Steps im letzten Jahr, was man auch deutlich hört. Dennoch ist der Sound höchstens ‘dubsteppish’, wobei Dub, Electronica und Downbeats zu einer eigenen Interpretation aus Richtung IDM Electronica zusammenfliessen. This mix presents a little bit of this and a little bit of that. It was made in the mood of the old Subsource mixes. Back then the aim was to play quite a variety of all the available netmusic rather then to focus on a specific music genre. So this is no clubmix and no droning piece of ambient art nor a nerdy IDM selection. It’s a bit of everything. A music collection that became pretty playful and couch compatible and melts seamlessly different kinds of music together and it’s ok to just enjoy it :)

Retrospectacular Prospect

Once again, time for a little sit at the table Christmas family reunion, to exchange gifts and make a little balance of last year’s difficult times. Grandpas of Crazy-Language are still in top form, clearly proving they’re here to stay until the need of some disapear change; whilst the children are running around like loonatics, showcasing their brand new fresh ideas, energy and clear will to leave a mark in the future.

Overpowering glitches, soft as pie melodies, insane in the membrane breaks, experimentalisms from the depths of hell, pads thrown to earth by heaven, amongst other special yummy production techniques are all
wrapped up tightly with a nice bow design by CL’s specialdesigner Sarge Grafx. So, our gift to you is this deliciously served codfish compilation, full of little musical gems, serving right as a break from those annoying shopping mall Christmas tunes, in favor of some grand Electronica tunes from all genres imaginable!
